Infuriate skeptics of all kinds!* Wilde wrote it all right (more or less). So what's wrong? Nothing ... unless you happen to remember that Wilde himself scored an 800 on the Cynicism section of the SATs. So of course the line above was spoken by a character in one of Wilde's plays. (Lord Darlington (incidentally modeled after the inventor of the Darlington transistor) in Lady Windemere's Fan.)
